The key differences between Wear OS 2 and 3 are the following:

- User experience: Wear OS 3 delivers easier navigation and improved apps and services.
- Features: Some features, such as full shot tracking for golf, are only available on watches updated to Wear OS 3.
- Google features: Some experiences are not available on watches with Wear OS 3, including Google Assistant. Messages by Google, Google Wallet™, and Google Maps are not available for watches paired paired with iOS devices.
